“postlandscape”a show of contemporary/mixed media landscape:
10 Local artists explore the Roaring Fork Valley landscape through unconventional depictions of the area
“postlandscape” opens at the Aspen Chapel Gallery February 10th with an artist reception rom from 5-7 pm. The show will run through March 13, 2016.
David Warner the curator of this show explains, “Many artworks are defined by a series of aesthetic judgments as a way to avoid entanglements outside the artist's creative utopia. Excluding issues of social and institutional critique, however, can be considered an acceptance of a status quo that empowers one social group, and marginalizes others. The exhibition “postlandscape” will explore the natural attributes of the Roaring Fork Valley through a range of projects spanning these artistic strategies.”
The ten local artists participating in this show include: Teresa Booth Brown, Curt Carpenter, Jose Ferreira, Andrew Roberts- Gray, Jody Guralnick, Tony Prikryl, Glenn Rappaport, Jen Rupert, David Warner, Eileen Wold, and Ellen Woods.
